Dr. Nallini Swaminathan holds a PhD in Psychology and brings a wealth of academic and clinical training — from her Diploma in Counselling through to her Masters and Doctorate — to her work helping individuals and couples navigate life's most challenging moments. Her practice is rooted in warmth, curiosity, and a genuine belief in every person's capacity for growth and healing.

She draws on a range of evidence-based modalities — including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and trauma-informed approaches — tailored to your unique needs and goals.

Sessions are conducted in English, Malay, and Tamil, and are available in-person at her Kuala Lumpur clinic or via secure video call.

The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. Dr. Nallini will ask about what brings you in, your background, and what you're hoping to work on. There's no pressure to share more than you're comfortable with. Together, you'll begin to outline a direction for your sessions. Most people find the first session reassuring rather than overwhelming.

The duration of therapy depends on your goals and the nature of what you're working through. Some people find that 6–12 sessions are enough to address a specific issue, while others benefit from longer-term work. Dr. Nallini will regularly review progress with you so that the pace always feels right. You are never locked into a set number of sessions.

Yes. Confidentiality is a cornerstone of the therapeutic relationship. Everything discussed in sessions is kept strictly private. The only exceptions — which Dr. Nallini will explain clearly at the outset — are situations where there is a serious, immediate risk of harm to yourself or others, or where disclosure is required by law. These circumstances are rare.

Yes. Metta offers secure video sessions for clients who prefer to meet online, whether for convenience, accessibility, or because you're based outside of Kuala Lumpur. Online sessions are conducted via a private, encrypted platform and are equally effective for most areas of therapy.
